Legislative regular session through Jun. 26, 2010

You can take your hands off from protecting your wallet; the Legislature is out of session. Now it’s up to the governor (and maybe Legislature if it wants to have an override session but which it never has done) to decide the fate of bills. Next week will begin the rankings of legislators on the ideology/reform index. But for now:


THIS WEEK FOR THE GOOD: HB 302 with minor amendment passed the House, was concurred in by the Senate, and was sent to the governor; HB 1143 with minor amendment was approved by the Senate; HB 1171 was concurred in by the House and sent to the governor; HB 1226 was concurred in by the House and sent to the governor; HB 1272 was sent to the governor; HB 1337 was concurred in by the House and sent to the governor; HB 1370 was signed by the governor; HB 1488 was sent to the governor; HB 1490 with minor amendments was approved by the Senate, was rejected by the House, with minor amendments was approved by the House, was approved of by the Senate, and was sent to the governor; SB 13 had House amendments concurred with by the Senate and was sent to the governor; SB 310 was sent to the governor; SB 391 failed to pass the House; SB 471 was sent to the governor; SB 534 passed the House; SB 606 was concurred in by the Senate and sent to the governor.


THIS WEEK FOR THE BAD: HB 251 was signed by the governor; SB1 was rejected by the Senate; SB 2 was rejected by the Senate; SB 490 was signed by the governor; SB 505 was sent to the governor.

Please give your opinion about Buddy running for President of the USA!
As Gov in Louisiana he passed Louisiana Recovery District. The one cent sales tax ended up being a Slush Fund for him and certain Legislators who he liked!
Please let the nation know what kind of Gov he was!
